If a head bolt is rusted it should not be reused. A head bolt should not be reused if the threads are galled or badly damaged. Do you need to Retorque Cometic head gaskets?
Yes, the gaskets were cometics. The “locals” that are playing with these two engines recomend a retorque after the initial run regardless what they say about the gaskets. Take this as necessary because these builders know what they are talking about. (I’ll get into this at a later time.)
