Is Margaret Falls BC open?
Margaret Falls trail now open for public use in Herald Provincial Park. Following extensive rehabilitation and rebuilding of the trail over the past 2.5 years, BC Parks is pleased to open up the Margaret Falls trail to public use. Please come and see the extensive enhancements completed on this very popular park trail.
Can you camp anywhere in BC?
You are not allowed to just pull over and camp anywhere. There are two main categories of campgrounds – government run and privately run. All levels of governments – federal parks, provincial parks, and some regional districts and municipalities – have public campgrounds in their jurisdictions.
Does Herald Provincial Park have cell service?
Herald Provincial Park has 128 reservable campsites, many with lake views. Herald doesn’t have wifi, but cell phone service is strong. The park has a large adventure playground in the day-use area. Campfires are permitted and firepits are provided at each campsite.
Does Blanket Creek have cell service?
The park has 2 park gates, one at the park entrance and one before the entrances to the campground or day-use/picnic area. There are no pay phones in the park but good cell phone coverage. The closest store is in Revelstoke, 25 km north on Highway 23.

Temperatures are warm in the summer but rarely extreme, making this a great campsite for those who prefer a cooler locale than the Okanagan Valley.

No cell service in the park, but if you have a cell booster you can get a signal 2.1 kms away (towards Lumby).
Can you camp anywhere on Crown land in BC?
Yes, you can camp on crown land*, free of charge, but only if that crown land isn’t already licensed to someone else.
Can I sleep in my car in BC?
It is now legal to sleep in cars parking on most public property between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. It is legal to use camp stoves and small cooking devices, as long as they are used in safe manner and in conditions that do not place any person, property or structure in danger.
