How do you cure IGH?
Idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis (IGH) is an acquired disorder presenting with small hypopigmented macules that occur chiefly on sun exposed regions of the skin. Treatments for IGH include corticosteroid, either topical or intralesional, topical retinoid, topical calcineurin inhibitors and surgical techniques.
What causes IGH?
IGH may be caused by the following: Ultraviolet rays, especially cumulative exposure. Age-related skin changes. Trauma.
Is IGH vitiligo?
IGH is clinically often confused with vitiligo and lichen sclerosus. Histologically too, both these conditions show epidermal features that are similar to IGH, namely, a flat epidermis with markedly decreased or absent melanin in the basal layer with decreased numbers of melanocytes at the dermoepidermal junction.
