Is renovating an Airstream worth it?
Having a pretty interior is fine and good, but it’s not worth it if you’re constantly fixing leaks, or your frame has serious issues, or you have rodents in your walls. Renovations take time and patience—and then more time, and more patience.
Why do Airstreams not have slide outs?
Reportedly, the primary reason for discontinuing the slide- out models was the number of sales of these units, weight and a price point that did not justify the factory floor space for keeping inventory and tooling.
How much does it cost to renovate an Airstream trailer?
Depending on your budget the cost of restoring can be anywhere $25,000 to $100,000. Not only do you need to worry about making sure the restored vintage Airstream looks nice, but you also need to think about the quality and age of the parts holding the trailer together.

Can you just buy an Airstream shell?
The studio is accepting orders for custom built Airstream trailers. These are new shells obtained from Airstream. All with standard showers and toilets available in production models. Models available are 19′ (single axle) through 26′ (double axle) and models in between.
Do Airstreams rust?
1) Corrosion Metal can be corroded and Airstreams are made entirely out of metal. One cause of corrosion can come from magnesium.
Do Airstream roofs leak?
Airstreams can leak. Over time and with wear and tear, the seals on your Airstream will break down, resulting in a leak. However, Airstreams are known to last much longer than most campers and are much more easily fixed than leaks that some common campers get.
