The antigen CD1c (BDCA-1) is a member of the CD1 family of transmembrane glycoproteins which are structurally related to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins. CD1 proteins mediate presentation of lipid and glycolipid antigens, including mycobacterial cell wall components, to T cells [9].
