What is Okenite Crystal?
Okenite (CaSi2O5ยท2H2O) is a silicate mineral that is usually associated with zeolites. It most commonly is found as small white “cotton ball” formations within basalt geodes. These formations are clusters of straight, radiating, fibrous crystals that are both bendable and fragile.
What is the white stuff in a geode?
Kaolinite occurs in solid geodes as compacted masses of snow- white, earthy powder, usually surrounded by coarsely crystalline calcite in the lower part of geode specimens.
What is Okenite good for?
Okenite helps one bridge the physical and spiritual worlds together, providing one with powerful high energy that can be used on this physical plane. This unique mineral is very powerful and brings in the energies and vibrations from higher dimensions and realms.
Where is Okenite found?
state of Maharashtra
Okenite is found in India, mainly within the state of Maharashtra. Other localities include Bulla Island, Azerbaijan; Aranga, New Zealand; Chile; Ireland and Bordo Island in the Faroe Islands.
Is Okenite a zeolite?
(1922) Re-examination of Some Zeolites (Okenite, Ptilolite, Etc.) Matematisk-fysiske meddelelser Kongelige Danske Videnskabernes Selskab: 4(8).
Where do you find Smithsonite?
Smithsonite rarely occurs in visible crystals. The only two locations to produce large crystals of significance are Tsumeb, Namibia; and the Kabwe Mine (Broken Hill), Zambia. Virtually all other findings of this mineral are in globular or botryoidal-like forms.
What is the difference between zeolite and apophyllite?
Zeolites are network silicates belonging to the Tectosilicate Subclass whereas apophyllite is a layered Phyllosilicate. The structural differences aside, apophyllite does have a lot of similar properties to many of the zeolite minerals.
Where does zeolite come from?
Natural zeolites occur in mafic volcanic rocks as cavity fillings, probably as a result of deposition by fluids or vapours. In sedimentary rocks zeolites occur as alteration products of volcanic glass and serve as cementing material in detrital rocks; they also are found in chemical sedimentary rocks of marine origin.
What does smithsonite Crystal look like?
Physical Properties of Smithsonite Usually brown or gray, but may be colorless, white, yellow, green, blue or pink. The colors can be spectacular, and that makes smithsonite popular with people who collect mineral specimens and gems. Perfect rhombohedral cleavage. Uneven to conchoidal fracture.
How can you tell a fake geode?
Fake geodes can be identified based on how they were manufactured. Synthetic versions lack flaws that are found in natural geodes, while composites and imitations often have evidence of bubbling, cracking, splotchy paint, artificial color, and leftover glue.
Can zeolite crystals go in water?
Zeolites contain water in the spaces between the aluminum and silica molecules (tetrahedra). This water moves easily in and out of the crystal. Consequently, any molecule similar in size to water or smaller can pass through the spaces in the zeolite. Larger molecules, however, cannot.
What does apophyllite do spiritually?
They are known to be a powerful way to become spiritually uplifted and bring a sense of oneness to their owner. It is said that apophyllite crystals can cleanse your auric field and manifest intense clearing of negativity in your body. It can send pure light energy and high vibrational cleansing pulsing through you.
