Is cursive handwriting going extinct?
In fact, the handwriting tradition of cursive, taught in classrooms around the country for decades, has seen something of a slow demise in recent years. To be fair, it’s not quite nearing extinction level, but some might argue it is increasingly endangered.
How we improve our handwriting?
Here’s what I learned:
- Choose the right pen. Before you write a word, think about your pen.
- Check your posture. Sit with your back straight, feel flat on the floor, legs uncrossed.
- Pick the right paper.
- Slow down.
- Examine your writing.
- Check the heights of your letters.
- Let yourself doodle.
- Copy handwriting you like.
Is handwriting outdated?
Cursive handwriting may be declining, such is the march of progress, but its value cannot be understated. The invention of the phone, typewriter, computer keyboard and email have all failed to extinguish penship from daily life, and handwriting itself is a fluid and adaptable practice.
