In total, YCP is a 17 month program which consists of two phases. During the 5 month Residential Phase, students live on site at one of the three locations: Camp Minden near Shreveport, Camp Beauregard near Alexandria, and The Gillis W. Long Center near Baton Rouge.
Is Camp Shelby free?
The free program is for at-risk boys and girls ages 16 to 18 and provides an alternative form of high school. The program teaches youth not only academic requirements but also life skills, self-discipline and employment opportunities.
