What is a foam eductor and how does it work?
An eductor is a device that uses the Venturi principle to introduce foam concentrate into the water stream. Water coming in the inlet of the eductor is directed through a tapered section and out through a small orifice (the Venturi) into a larger chamber thus creating a low pressure area within the chamber.
Is it OK to eat expired freeze dried food?
If the pouch or can is out of date and the food inside is still dry, it will be safe to eat, though the flavor may be a bit bland if you’re a few years past the “best by” date. The lifetimes of all of these freeze dried foods, no matter how it’s packaged, can be extended by storage in cool conditions.

How does foam applicator work?
A portable foam applicator unit shall consist of a foam nozzle of an inductor type capable of being connected to the fire main by a fire hose, together with a portable tank containing at least 20 / of foam-forming liquid and one spare tank of foam making liquid.
How do Eductors work?
An eductor system uses fluid mechanics to transfer energy from one fluid to another via the Venturi effect, in which flow is restricted to create a partial vacuum. Essentially, high-pressure low-velocity fluid is converted to low-pressure high-velocity fluid to produce the pressure difference required for suction.
How far can a foam eductor be from the pump?
150 to 300 feet
Eductor Placement Moving the eductor down the hoseline may be required if a long line is being pumped, as there are restrictions on how much hose can extend past the eductor. These restrictions range from 150 to 300 feet depending on the eductor.
Which freeze-dried food lasts the longest?
Mountain House has the longest proven shelf life in the freeze dried emergency food industry. Take Mountain House with you on your next outdoor adventure, or stash away in your emergency food pantry just in case that next storm knocks your power out.

How long do freeze-dried foods last once opened?
Once you open your can of freeze-dried food, it is automatically exposed to two things – oxygen and moisture in the air. That’s why it’s important to use the plastic lid and lock out the moisture as much as possible from an open can of food. You’ll be able to open the can and eat the contents for 6 to 12 months.
Where are eductors used?
Bilgemate eductor, a peripheral jet model, is able to handle solids suspended in liquid and also large quantities of air. Naval vessels use them for damage-control systems and for bilge and ballast systems, while Amoco, Esso, and other operators use them for pumping bilges and stripping ballast tanks.
What is educator pump?
An educator pump works on the Bernoulli principle; which states that the speed of the fluid in a medium increases simultaneously with a decrease in pressure. This can be easily explained by using conservation of mechanical energy.
How far should a foam eductor be from the nozzle?
A 125 gpm eductor has a slightly larger smoothbore, and 350 gpm eductor has an inlet nozzle slightly less than one inch (0.90”). Using the 65% rule, distance from a 95 gpm eductor to a foam nozzle is a function of the back pressure. Fire ground hydraulics dictates that a 95 gpm foam stream will flow through 200 ft.
