What is Surency Flex?
Your Surency Flex Benefits Card is a special-purpose Visa® Card that gives you an easy, automatic way to pay for eligible expenses. The Benefits Card lets you electronically access the pre-tax amounts set aside in your Surency Flex accounts.
How does a Flexible Spending Account work?
A Flexible Spending Account (also known as a flexible spending arrangement) is a special account you put money into that you use to pay for certain out-of-pocket health care costs. You don’t pay taxes on this money. This means you’ll save an amount equal to the taxes you would have paid on the money you set aside.

You can use a debit card, also known as the Flexcard, to withdraw money directly from your FSA. This system also has the added benefit of automating the IRS approval process for FSAs, which, pre-Flexcard, required a good bit of paperwork and people to process it.
