What is ASUS DIGI+ VRM Utility?
DIGI+ The DIGI+ Power Control section of ASUS AI Suite allows for VRM and DRAM voltage control. You can to fine-tune these values to achieve optimal system stability, performance and efficiency when matched with other areas of overclocking or ASUS’ own tuning facilities.
What is DIGI +VRM?
Digi VRM is simply the name ASUS uses for the digitally-controlled VRM on their boards.
What is active frequency mode?
Active Frequency Mode sets a range of VRM frequencies, depending on the current pull of the system. At low power modes the frequency is reduced to reduce the total power, but at high current pulls, the frequency is increased to accommodate the needs of the overclock.
What is Vddcr SoC power?
SoC/uncore is the voltage applied to components in the cpu other than the cores, things like the memory controller. VDDCR SoC is the voltage of external graphics cards memory controllers etc.
What is Phase VRM?
Essentially the power phases of a motherboard are determined by its Voltage Regulator Modules (VRM). Basically, the higher the number of VRMs the motherboard has the higher is the number of power phases it has. The higher the amount of power phases the motherboard has, the more stable the system will run.
What is VRM switching frequency?
Switching frequency is how quickly certain parts of your VRM flip from on to off. Lower switching frequencies generally come with efficiency gains, but can have negative effects elsewhere.
What should I set my SOC voltage to?
When you are overclocking you should set SOC to 1.1v, and you can increase that voltage up to 1.2v or 1.25v depending on who you listen too (AMD has not released any guidance around max SOC voltage).
How good is AI suite3?
The AI Suite 3 is a nice program to achieve an easy overclock. It will not get you the highest overclock, but it will get you the quickest stable oc. So it’s okay to use it. But if you want to oc to the highest you can get, then you have to do the work.
Is AI overclocking good ASUS?
AI Overclocking is faster and more efficient than other methods, and it allows you to overclock a system in just a few short steps from the UEFI or desktop. Naturally, we had to take it for a test drive.
What is a good VRM phase?
Regardless, a 10 phase (doubled) VRM is still better than a 5 phase and is a cheap trick to allow a higher power draw.
Does VRM affect performance?
A poor VRM can lead to degraded performance and limit a processor’s ability to function under load. It can even lead to unexpected shutdowns, especially when overclocking.
