Will we eventually run out of music?
The short answer is yes, there’s a limited number of sounds we can hear and thus a finite number of possible ways of combining them. Don’t panic, though. Before you start stockpiling melodies and burying riffs in your garden, you should know that there’s still a lot of them left.

If you search the web, the first thing that pops up on Google regarding this question is 97 million songs. However, Spotify keeps a record of 82 million songs. But according to Gracenote, there are more than 200 million songs up until 2018, so that number should be higher right now.
