Which way do DiMarzio pickups go?
There is no right or wrong installation direction. The Bluesbucker® is brighter-sounding with the adjustable screw coil toward the bridge. The D Sonic™ and Crunch Lab™ models (6 and 7 string) and the MegaDrive™ are brighter-sounding with the solid bar coil toward the bridge.
Are DiMarzio pickups active?

A guitar pickup that requires powered electronics (usually a preamp powered by one or two 9-volt batteries) on board the instrument in order to function. Active pickup/preamp systems may provide buffering, EQ, feedback control, filtering, and level boosting, as well as lower noise and hum than passive designs.
What is F spacing on guitar pickup?
A: F-spacing refers to the widest spacings on full-sized humbucking pickups. For correct string alignment and a balanced output, F-spaced humbuckers should be used in the bridge position on guitars with string spacing at the bridge of 2.1″ or 53mm (or greater).

Are F spaced pickups wider?
Do F spaced pickups sound different?
There’s no significant difference in sound, either. The whole “F” spaced thing has more to do with the visual of strings lining up over the pole pieces than with anything involving sound.
Are DiMarzio better than Seymour Duncan?
Output standards DiMarzio does much better than Seymour Duncan when it comes to high output sounds. On the other hand, Seymour Duncan seems to run the market in terms of medium output stuff. Although not necessarily my style, I find Seymour Duncan better in vintage output.
Is DiMarzio Tone Zone good?
The DiMarzio Tone Zone is a fantastic pickup for a huge rock sound. With a little bit of tweaking of the pole-pieces and the pickup itself you will find that you can have a massive low-end wall of sound, and still retain enough clarity to sound nice and articulate.
