Theodore arrived at Camp Green Lake, was assigned to D-Tent and received his nickname, Armpit, due to a scorpion stinging his arm, where the pain travelled up to his armpit. While Stanley was at Camp Green Lake, Armpit became his “mentor” as assigned by Mr. Pendanski.
What age should read Holes?
While I am sure many kids would enjoy it, I would most recommend it for boys between the ages of 9 and 12. It has a bit of violence, but nothing gruesome or scary. If your child enjoys Gordon Korman novels, Harry Potter or the Hardy Boys, he or she will enjoy Holes!
