Yes all of our parts all are forged. All CP-CARRILLO and BULLET Series pistons are forged for maximum strength and durability.
How can you tell if a piston is a CP?
Both rings will normally be marked with a dot(.), number, or letter that will aid in determining which side of the ring will face up toward the dome of the piston. If the rings don’t have a dot or letter to mark “up”, check the ID of the ring and they should be beveled.
What are forged pistons?
Forged pistons employ a single lump of billet alloy which is stamped by the use of a die. The shape of the die determines the size and shape of the piston.

What are Carrillo rods made of?
CP-Carrillo uses a proprietary steel to manufacture its connecting rods, named Carrilloy. It is a chrome, nickel, moly, vanadium alloy which meets all VAR (vacuum arc re-melt ASTM standards).

Both JE and SRP are high quality forged pistons. JE Pistons are designed primarily for racing engines and are available for many “race specific” applications. In addition, JE Pistons can be custom made to your specification in as little as 5 days.

the JE are a professional grade piston that you can have made to your exact spec’s if needed, the srp’s are a good piston, but not built to the same spec’s as the JE’s, and have limited sizes.

Does a crankshaft add horsepower?
Increasing an engine’s displacement with a longer stroke crankshaft will increase torque output and in most cases horsepower too. On turbocharged applications, a benefit is also realized in boost response.
Do you have to let forged pistons warm up?
Yes, make sure it’s up to oil temp (170+) before beating on it. It’s okay to drive around town until it’s warmed up. I still let mine idle up a bit before driving. Forged or not should have zero effect on the need to bring car to proper operating temp before beating on it.
