At the end of all the test plates, here is what worked best for me:
- Polish the plate using Never Dull wadding polish. Thoroughly wipe.
- Clean the plate twice using Bar Keeper’s Friend and a bit of water.
- Apply hardground.
- Line etch.
- Strip in mineral spirits, then clean/degrease plate.
- Aquatint.
